Investors in People

Recognition as an Investor in People is given subject to on-going review, which must take place within a maximum period of three years. The on site assessment involves interviews with a cross section of employees from all areas of the business. Interviews are generally on an individual basis, with some group meetings.
Marley Plumbing & Drainage achieved its original recognition as an Investor in People in 1998, the last review being in 2004, where we successfully regained recognition.
The summary from the 2004 review follows:
- The business continues to embrace significant change.
- Communication is underpinning the change programme, and there is definately a move towards a more open culture.
- Cross-departmental project work is helping to break down internal barriers, and the 'Front line Manager' development programme has had a similar positive effect outside of its direct purpose.
- The Human Resources function takes a very pro-active approach and this is a strength of the business, as is top level succession planning.
