Marley Alutec Provides Rainwater Solution for National Trust Site in Cornwall

Gutters and downpipes from Marley Alutec have been utilised for Carolina Cellar, a National Trust cottage in Port Quin. With their traditional cast iron look, the gutters provide an unobtrusive rainwater solution for the historic building.
As part of the cottage's refurbishment, over 30 metres of Alutec Traditional half round gutters in black and matching downpipes were installed. Designed to emulate cast iron, while at the same offering the advantages of aluminium, The Alutec product range offers products which are lightweight, low maintenance and durable. At Carolina Cellars, the traditional style of the gutters blends perfectly with the grey stone of the cottage.
"We are very happy with the way the project went, with Marley being very straightforward and helpful", Rob George from National Trust, who specified Marley Alutec for Carolina Cellar, commented. "Marley Alutec provided us with an alternative to cast iron that was easier to fit and maintain, whilst enabling us to keep the original aesthetics with the refurbishment."
Carolina Cellar is a former fish-processing shed, originally used to press salt pilchards prior to shipping them to Europe. Carefully renovated, the original features of the cottage, which has been affiliated to the National Trust for more than forty years, have remained. Offering a breathtaking view over the coast and located close to the lively village of Port Isaac, the Carolina Cellar today is now rented out as a holiday home.
