Cut metered bills

Keep irrigating and cut metered bills with Marley Waterloc...
With hosepipe bans and water metering for all UK households a certainty, Marley Plumbing & Drainage’s Waterloc rainwater harvesting system could be a key element of keeping the grass green and the bills down for homeowners.
The rainwater harvesting system from Marley can be buried in the garden to collect rainwater from the roof via the guttering and downpipes. It is unique because it is made up of a number of Waterloc cells, a tough, lightweight water storage cell, each the size of a large cardboard box, surrounding a filter and pump. Rainwater collected can then be used for garden irrigation, as well as toilet flushing and car washing.
Even in dry areas of the country, at least 24,000 litres – or 150 water butts – of water could be collected from an average domestic roof each year. While garden water use is estimated at 7% of the annual water consumption of an average household, at peak times as much as 70% of water supply is used in gardens.
The environmental and economic cost of this could be simply offset by installation of a low cost rainwater harvesting system. The advantage of using the Waterloc cells to construct the harvester is that the modular system is flexible, and any size and combination of storage or infiltration unit can be constructed economically. Before Waterloc, rainwater harvesting systems consisted of a large, rigid buried tank, which is costly to install and unwieldy for gardens with limited access.
Simple to install, flexible, robust and durable, rainwater harvesting is an elegant and simple solution to a pressing need. Marley Plumbing and Drainage manufactures a modular rainwater harvesting system available in kit form or as a bespoke solution. For more information visit www.marley.co.uk or contact 01622 852585.
