General site preparation

Before starting work on the excavation, it is essential to plan the location of the Waterloc installation to suit both the proximity of the building boundary and the elevation if the ground relative to the available water collection point. It is also advisable to establish the location of any other underground services to the site.
- 500mm - 600mm should be allowed around the width and length of the excavation for backfilling.
- The cells should have a minimum cover of 500mm - see Structural design.
- A depth allowance of 100 - 150mm should be made for tamping and levelling the base with coarse sand.
- Coarse granular material should be used for
backfilling.
