Air admittance valve

- Valves should not be placed outside the building or other space where the risk of freezing may occur
- Valves installed in a ventilated loft space must have the white polystyrene insulating cover left in place
- Valves should be positioned within a building where they are easily accessible
- Care must be taken to avoid contamination of the sealing surfaces as this may affect the air-tightness of the valve
- The protective bag should remain on the product until ready for use
- Do not store valves on their side or upside down
- Valves must be fitted above the spill over level (overflow or flood level) of the highest appliance
- When installed within a duct, the duct must have a ventilation grill of equivalent size to the soil stack
- Valves should be installed vertically
