Where to use which trap?

| Vanity/wash basin |

Depending upon position of waste in relation to basin outlet. |
| Sink |

Bottle traps are generally not recommended for kitchen sinks due to likelihood of blockage. |
| Bath |
|
Dependant on space between floor and bath. WSB4W is not recommended where waste pipe is connected to a soil stack. |
| Shower |
|
Shower trap has a removable waste for cleaning. |
| Sink/bath overflow fittings |
|
* These items have a 20mm water seal depth (conventional traps have a 50mm –75mm water seal depth). It is recommended that their use is restricted to ground floor baths and showers that discharge to an external trapped gully. They should not be fitted to appliances where the waste pipe is connected to a soil stack.
