Marley Rainwater System Helps Retain Historic Village Charm

An Alutec rainwater gutter from Marley is providing a traditional feel to an exclusive new build housing development in the countryside village of Market Lavington, Wiltshire.
The idyllic location is a designated English Heritage conservation area, meaning it has “special architectural or historic interest”, and features a parish church that dates back to the 12th century. As such, any new construction has to fit sympathetically into the surroundings, and actively maintain or enhance the area’s existing character.
The aluminium rainwater system from Marley offered the ideal solution; the Alutec Traditional 125mm half round gutter and circular 76mm downpipes were installed throughout the development. The gutter and rainwater pipes were installed in ‘Heritage black’ – a special textured black polyester powder coating, specifically designed to emulate cast iron in appearance – to retain the historic atmosphere of the village.
Manufactured from high-grade aluminium, Alutec offers a resilient rainwater solution. Aluminium is more durable than zinc and lighter than cast iron. It is also infinitely recyclable, ensuring an environmentally friendly solution and has the added benefit of not needing to be repainted.
