Rainwater systems from the new Life4 range from Marley have been used on an exclusive housing development in Crossgates, Scarborough.

The 112 x 60mm Flowline white square gutters and 68mm circular downpipes were installed on the five luxury three bedroom bungalows, complementing the contemporary red brick and providing a stylish rainwater solution.

The rainwater systems combine all the practical and aesthetic characteristics of the Flowline range - including a large rainwater capacity and a discreet profile ideal for modern homes  - but with the added benefits of increased colour retention and high gloss levels provided by Life4.

Brian Wharton, site manager at Thompson Homes comments: “The longevity and durability of the Life4 gutters and downpipes were a major factor in the choice of system and the high gloss provides an attractive finish that won’t fade over the years. The Easyclip jointing system also enabled easy installation on site and ensured a watertight joint.”

Due to the unique manufacturing process, Life4 rainwater systems have stable colour retention of up to four times longer than standard PVCu systems. Gutters and downpipes are co-extruded (where two materials are extruded simultaneously to make one product) using a higher specification material to form a capping layer on the outside of the gutter or pipe.  This higher specification material, by its very nature, is more durable.  Life4 achieved excellent results in artificial weathering tests, even after three times the test length set by the European Standard.
