Filtration

Most drainage systems will carry debris; this should be collected before it passes into attenuation and soakaway units. Most silt trapping methods rely on the water being significantly reduced so that any particles drop out of suspension. Silt traps can be located at any point in the system upstream of the storage. The Marley 250mm silt trap, UG60, collects silt and debris at the rainwater collection point.

For communal infiltration & attenuation systems it is recommended that each property has its own silt trap. Where the depth required precludes the use of the 250mm silt trap, it is possible to construct a 450mm silt trap on site.
